Pre-School Orientation Programme
At Fairlie Primary School we run a Pre-School Orientation Programme for all four year olds. One Wednesday afternoon twice a term, your four year old is encouraged to come to Room One for an afternoon of activities. The purpose of the Orientation afternoons is to make the transition between Pre-School and School a comfortable and pleasant experience. It is an opportunity for your four year old to become familiar with the New Entrant Teacher, the classroom and the wider school surroundings. During these visits your child will participate in some Language and Maths Activities. They will be shown around the school and will visit the library. Parents are required to stay during these sessions, but the staffroom is available for a cup of tea or coffee – which you are encouraged to make the most of as this time enables your child to become more independent.
